SPOKANE, Wash.- Gonzaga men's tennis will end their seven-match road trip Friday, as they head to Provo, Utah, to take on BYU at 12 p.m. PT.
The Zags are entering their second West Coast Conference match after a busy spring break week where they had four matches in six days. In the WCC opener at San Diego, the Bulldogs fell 5-2 after Kyle Everly and Vincent Rettke put up a fight winning their doubles match 5-2.
Three days later the Zags met a talented team at UC Santa Barbara, falling 7-0. A day later at UC Irvine, Ruadhan O' Sullivan's lone comeback victory in singles play was not enough, as Gonzaga fell to the Anteaters 6-1. Despite the losses, the Zags finished the trip on a strong note, defeating Yale 5-2 in Irvine. After dropping the doubles point, Gonzaga came back to win five of six matches in singles to take the dual.
BYU is 12-2 on the season and 2-0 in WCC play with wins over Portland and Pacific. The Cougars are coming off a 4-1 at the Oracle Collegiate Challenge against SMU.
