Men’s Tennis’ Feit Splits Matches at ITA All-American

Feit opened the day with a Round 2 win

TULSA, Okla. – Gonzaga's Sam Feit opened the day with a win, but came up short in the third round of the Qualifying Draw on Tuesday at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

"Sam won two good matches against quality opponents [this week] and just came up a little short in the qualifying final today," head coach Jonas Piibor said. "He is continuing to get mentally tougher, and it really showed these past two days."

Feit opened the day with a fantastic win over Tulane's Hamish Stewart in straight sets to advance the third round of the Qualifying Draw. After beating Stewart 6-3 in the first set, the two battled to a tiebreak, which Feit dominated 7-2 to take the set and the match.

In the third round, Feit faced off against USC's Riley Smith. A late break-point in the first set gave Smith the advantage at 7-5, before the Trojan won the second set 6-3.
