MOSCOW, Idaho – Gonzaga's
Evan Bates led a successful day for the Bulldog men and women at the Idaho Open inside the Kibbie Dome Thursday.
Evan Bates took the men's indoor mile title with a time of 4:14.09.
Myles Bach was closely behind in third at 4:17.39, while
Riley Moore was fifth (4:18.57).
Sammy Truax (4:19.64) and
Kyle Radosevich (4:20.10) were eighth and ninth.
In the women's mile,
Liz Hogan placed fifth with a time of 5:13.74.
Lauren Krause was ninth in the women's 400 meters at 62.40.
Felecia Bazie had the top GU finish in the women's 60 meters, placing 22
nd, at 8.25.
Sam McCloughan placed second in the men's 3,000 meters. He ran a seven second personal record with a time of 8:41.99.
Amanda Kiefer (10:53.81) was seventh in the women's 3,000 meters, while
Lauren Bourgeois (10:58.62) placed ninth.
A trio of Zags placed in the top five of the men's 5,000 meters.
Alex Walde (15:36.09) led the pack in third, followed by
Hunter Simpson (15:47.42) and
Bradley Rzewnicki (15:52.97) were fourth and fifth.
In the men's 800 meters, Bates came in seventh place with a time of 1:57.14. He placed third in his heat, and his time ranks 10
th all-time in program history.
