SPOKANE, Wash. – The Zags started their final fall tournament strong, going 11-0 on the day. All Zags duos have moved onto the semifinals, while every player won in the first round of singles as well.

Caroline Wernli taking on Katherine Jhang and Melissa Huchet of Idaho, beating them, 7-5. In the same bracket, sophomore
Tiegan Aitken and sophomore
Kianna Oda defeated Neli Sunjic and Annika Alcon of Portland, 7-6(3). In the second round of the red bracket, Svarre and Wernli took on the one seed Kelly Leung and Zoey Weil of Washington, taking them down, 6-4 to move to the semifinals. Aitken and Oda took on Grace Haugen and Maria Goheen of Montana, dominating them, 6-1. Junior

Adrianna Sosnowska, who received a first round bye, defeated Lauren Dunlap and Rosie Sterk of Montana in the second round of the blue bracket, winning 6-2.
In the singles red bracket,
Tiegan Aitken defeated Aili Hietala of Montana, who retired from the match, 6-0.
Caroline Wernli took down Saffron Dowse of Idaho, 6-1, 6-2. In the blue draw,
Adrianna Sosnowska defeated Maria Goheen of Montana, 6-2, 6-1. Catherine Broerman sailed past Megan Lang Gould of Idaho State, 6-1, 6-1. In the purple bracket,
Frederikke Svarre swept JJ Chen of Montana State, 6-2, 6-0. In the hardest fought battle of the day,
Kianna Oda battled Marija Elenova of Portland, winning 6-7(4), 6-1 [10-7].
The next two rounds of singles will start tomorrow, and doubles will conclude in Sunday.
