THE TIP OFF
- No. 2/1 Gonzaga heads to BYU for a West Coast Conference contest Saturday at 7 p.m. Pacific Time. It's the 30th meeting between the programs and the Zags own the all-time series 22-7.
- GU has won four straight versus the Cougars. BYU's last win in the series came in 2020, 91-78, in Provo.
- The Zags have won 28 straight conference games, which is the longest active streak of its kind in the nation. Gonzaga's last league loss was a 91-78 setback at BYU on Feb. 22, 2020. The Bulldogs have won 25 consecutive WCC games by double-digits by an average margin of 24.4 points.
- GU has won nine straight true road games, which is the longest active streak in the country.
- Gonzaga is coming off a 92-62 win at San Diego Thursday. Six Bulldogs finished in double-digits paced by
Chet Holmgren's 23 points. He added 12 rebounds and four blocked shots. GU shot 57 percent from the field.
- The Zags are one of 10 unbeaten teams in conference play. GU is on a 11-game win streak, the third-longest active streak in the nation. It's the sixth straight season Gonzaga has had a 10-game or more win streak.
- The Bulldogs are 7-0 in WCC play for the third straight season, they have opened 13-0 the past three seasons.
- GU rides a national-best, and program-best, 64-game home win streak inside the McCarthey Athletic Center.
- The Zags appear in the Associated Press poll for the 108th consecutive ranking, the longest current streak in the nation, with Villanova second at 53. GU is the only program in the country to appear in every AP poll since 2017, with a No. 5 average ranking. The last time the Bulldogs were not in the Top 5 was Dec. 9, 2019 (No. 6).
- GU is first in the nation in scoring offense (90.9), field goal percentage (53.7), scoring margin (25.2), two-point percentage (62.8) and in defensive rebounds (32.05), second in assists per game (19.3), third in rebounds per game (42.3), fourth in rebound margin (9.4), fifth in assist-turnover ratio (1.6), and 10th in blocks per game (5.8).

Drew Timme is sixth and 13th in the nation shooting 63.3 percent and 60.4 percent from the field. Holmgren seventh with 68 blocks and eighth in the country averaging 3.4 blocks per game. Holmgren is eighth in the nation shooting 75 percent inside-the-arc.

- The Zags are first in KenPom's rankings (second offensive efficiency and 17th efficient defense).
- The Bulldogs have won 70 of their last 74 games, and since the start of the 2019-20 season, GU has won a national-best 80 out of their last 85 games. Gonzaga is also 49-3 since the start of 2020-21.

- This is the 30th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and BYU. The Zags have a 22-7 advantage in the series, with all 29 matchups coming under

- Gonzaga has won the last four meetings dating back to a 91-78 loss in Provo on Feb. 22, 2020, the Zags last WCC setback. GU was No. 2 at the time and BYU was No. 23.
- The Bulldogs won the matchup earlier this season in Spokane, 110-84.

- BYU is coming off a 73-59 home loss to San Francisco Thursday. Alex Barcello led the Cougars with 25 points. Seneca Knight and Atiki Ally Atiki added 12 and 10 points.
- Barcello averages a team-high 17.3 points per game, and has made a team-best 63 three-points on 47 percent shooting from behind-the-perimeter.
- Lucas adds 10.4 points per game, and dishes out a team-high 4.42 assists. Traore grabs a team-high 8.2 rebounds.
- BYU was picked second in the WCC Preseason Poll, and climbed to 12th in the AP poll on Nov. 29.
