SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga men's and women's track wrapped up another strong in the distance races at the Whitworth-hosted Peace Invite, with 16 runners finishing in the Top 10 of their respective races and another program record set by a Zag women's runner in the sprints.

Starting things off in the 200m dash, Ava Prunier-Herman topped Ellie Armbruster's program record with a time of 26.13, surpassing her previous best from 2021. Alyssa Bienfang nearly matched her PR en route to an event win in the 800m, crossing the finish line in 2:16.00 ahead of Elizabeth Brands (fourth, 2:19.18) and three other Zags that finished in the top 15. Emilee Groth PR'd in the 400m hurdles (1:05.42) for a second-place finish as the lone GU competitor in the event.

GU swept first place in both the men's and women's 1500m events — Competing in his first outdoor meet, Wil Smith took home first place in the men's race with a personal-best time of 3:50.27, and Emily Phelps paced five Zags in the top 15 of the women's race with a 4:40.51 first-place finish ahead of Alexi Fogo (fourth, 4:48.53), Jasmine Nguyen (eighth, 4:54.83) and Georgia Brady (10th, 4:56.79).

All six competing Zags runners cracked the Top 10 in the men's 5K, led by a second-place finish from Ben Brown (14:49.37). Aidan Baughan (fourth, 14:51.69), Nicky DiMartino (sixth, 14:54.08), Matthew Roberts (seventh, 14:56.03), Sam McCloughan (eighth, 14:59.17) and Quentin Rickey (10th, 15:30.92) rounded out the rest of the field. Brown, Baughan, DiMartino and Roberts all recorded personal bests in the process.
