WTEN: Zags Finish Strong at the Gonzaga Invite Finale

SPOKANE, Wash. --  The Gonzaga women's tennis team completed their participation in the Gonzaga Invite earlier this afternoon. Today's action concludes the third of four total fall tournaments the Zags will perform in this season.
 
Two pairs of Zags performed in championship matches in the doubles competition. In the Gold Doubles Final, Gonzaga's Kianna Oda and Emily Robertson lost 6-3 to Washington State's Lunda Kumholm and Yura Nakagawa. Shortly after, Gonzaga Rose Hayes and Lia Espinal battled, but lost to Idaho's Selin Sepken and Ida Johansson by a score of 6-4 in the Blue Doubles Final.
 
In the singles competition, Gonzaga's Savannah Johnson performed in the White Consolation Singles Semifinals, losing to Portland State's Maddie Egan by a score of 6-1, 6-1. Gonzaga's Tiegan Aitken picked up an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory against Seattle's Lola Tavcar in the Red Consolation Singles Semifinals. Aitken did not play the Red Consolation Singles Final.
 
Up next:
Today's action concludes Gonzaga's participation in the Gonzaga Invite. The Zags will hit the court next on November 3rd, when they are scheduled to perform in the Michigan State Hidden Dual.
