Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. --  Earlier this morning, the Gonzaga women's tennis team faced Georgia Tech in a nonconference dual match. Today's match also marks the first time the Zags have faced Georgia Tech in program history.
 
Opening with the doubles competition, Gonzaga faced a talented Georgia Tech team. On court two, Georgia Tech's Kylie Bilchev and Alejandra Cruz defeated Gonzaga's Jenna Sloan and Tiegan Aitken by a score of 6-2. Shortly after, Georgia Tech's Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura earned a 7-5 victory over Gonzaga's Cate Broerman and Adrianna Sosnowska. In the final doubles match of the day, Georgia Tech's Monika Dedaj and Rosie Garcia Gross clinched a 7-5 win over Gonzaga's Kianna Oda and Rose Hayes 7-5 in the No.3 spot.
 
Transitioning to the singles competition, Gonzaga continued to battle. In the No.1 spot, Lee earned a 6-2, 6-0 win over Broerman. On court four, Georgia Tech's Mahak Jain defeated Oda 6-2, 6-3. Georgia Tech clinched the team victory when Bilchev earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Sosnowska.
 
On court five, Hayes battled, but dropped her match against Garcia Gross by a score of 6-3, 6-1. Georgia Tech earned another team point when Cruz defeated Sloan 6-4, 6-2 in the No.3 spot. In the final singles match of the day, Georgia Tech's Ruth Marsh clinched a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Aitken.
 
Up Next: The Gonzaga women's tennis team will stay in Atlanta following today's match, as they are scheduled to face Georgia State on Feb. 19 at 7 a.m. The Zags will return to the Stevens Center next weekend, as they will play Boise State on Feb. 25 at 11 a.m.
