Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. --  The Gonzaga women's tennis team had a match earlier this morning against Georgia State. Today's match also marks the first time the Zags have faced Georgia State in program history.
 
Starting with the doubles competition, Gonzaga opened the match with a dominant performance. On court one, Gonzaga's Cate Broerman and Adrianna Sosnowska defeated Georgia State's Michelle Ncube and Kumar Pragnya by a score of 6-2. The doubles point was clinched for the Zags when Kianna Oda and Rose Hayes earned a 6-4 court three victory over Georgia State's Eva Chivu and Ellie Aldrich. The court two match between Gonzaga's Jenna Sloan and Tiegan Aitken and Georgia State's Alexia Alvarez and Maria Paredes went unfinished, ending with a score of 5-4.
 
Transitioning to the singles competition, Gonzaga earned their second team point of the match when Caroline Wernli won by default. In the No.1 spot, Broerman earned an impressive 6-0, 6-4 win over Chivu. The team victory was clinched for Gonzaga when Sosnowska defeated Ncube by a score of 7-5, 6-3 in the No.2 spot.
 
With the 4-0 team victory already clinched for Gonzaga, all other singles matches went unfinished.
 
Up Next: Following today's impressive victory, the Gonzaga women's tennis team will look forward to returning to the Stevens Center to face Boise State on Feb. 25 at 11 a.m. This match will open a four-game home stretch, followed by three-game road trip to Louisiana before conference play begins.
