CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The Gonzaga men's rowing team wrapped up competition at the UCSD Invitational with a first and second place finish.
"Today was a bit of a challenge in getting racing complete due the high water and wind, a lot of debris was on the race course," head coach Dan Gehn said.
Â
The Zags took first in the 1V8 race with a time of 6:02.0 while Marietta took second with a time of 6:12.0.
Â
In the 2V8 race, Gonzaga placed second at 6:05.99 behind UCSD's first place time of 6:03.63. Santa Clara finished third at 6:11.87.
"The 3V8 wasn't able to complete their race," Gehn added. "The 2V8 closed the gap a bit on UCSD and the V8 beat Marietta after hitting a buoy on the alternate course and being slowed considerably."
Â
Up Next: The Zags travel to Colton, Washington, to compete in the WSU Fawley Cup on April 22nd.
