LAHAINA, Hawaii – In the final tournament of the fall schedule, Gonzaga men's golfer
Ethan Flynn placed 35
th at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic at five-under. The Bulldogs finished 17
th as a team.
Gonzaga was six-under (278) in the third and final round Monday, its lowest round of the event. The Zags opened the tournament at one-under (283) in Round 1, before an even-par (284) Sunday. GU's 165 pars were the seventh-most in the 21-team field.
Flynn had two eagles over the 54-hole event, which was tied for the fourth-most in the 123-golfer field. He carded a 65 (-6) in the first round Saturday, before a two-over (73) second round, and a one-under (70) final round.
Bruce Chang rose 31 spots on the leaderboard in the final round with his five-under (66) finish. He placed 58
th at two-under.
Daniel Nunez and
Charlie Olson tied for 72
nd at one-over. Nunez carded a 69 (-2) in the final round and climbed 17 spots on the leaderboard.
Daniel Kim placed 117
th at 11-over.
Second-ranked Oklahoma won the team title at 42-under, while No. 32 Colorado was second at 36-under. Oklahoma's Jaxon Dowell took medalist honors at 17-under.
