SPOKANE, Wash. – Earlier this morning, the Gonzaga men's tennis team hosted the University of San Francisco for a conference dual match. Entering today's match, the Bulldogs had won four of the previous five matches against the Dons, including an impressive 4-2 victory last season in San Francisco.
 
Gonzaga got off to an impressive start in the singles competition, as Leon Roider and Pablo Gomez Galvan claimed a 6-2 court two win over San Francisco's Roman Lafond and Asaf Friedler. Seconds later, Gonzaga clinched the doubles point on court three, as Gus Krauel and Oliver Andersson defeated San Francisco's Moritz Hoffman and Paul Theate by a score of 6-3.
 
With Gonzaga already having clinched the doubles competition, the court one match between Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth and San Francisco's Giovanni Branchetti and Davide Cortimiglia went unfinished, ending with a score of 5-2.
 
In the singles competition, Gonzaga expanded their lead when Rashed earned an impressive 6-1, 6-2 court five victory against Cortimiglia. Shortly after, Gonzaga's Tom Dunlop shined, defeating Lafond on court six by a score of 6-2, 6-3. San Francisco earned their only team point on court three, as Branchetti defeated Roider by a score of 6-1, 6-3.
 
In the No.2 spot, Gonzaga clinched the team victory when Hollingworth earned a 7-5, 6-4 win against Theate. With the team victory already clinched, all other singles matches went unfinished.
 
Up next: The Gonzaga men's tennis team will enjoy a week off following today's win, as their next scheduled matches are at Loyola Marymount on April 13th and at San Diego on April 14th. The Bulldogs will return to the Stevens Center on April 19th, as they are scheduled to host Pacific at 10 am.

Records: The season record for Gonzaga improves to 7-7 with the victory. For San Francisco, their record on the year drops to 5-11 with the loss. Today's match also moves the historical record between the Bulldogs and Don to 11-15.
