WALLA WALLA, Wash.- Gonzaga men's cross country captured another win on Saturday afternoon, putting together a solid team performance to win the Whitman Invitational.
Samy Anderson ran a personal best in the 6k, finishing in 24:19.4 to take second place in the race. Three more Zags ran season bests to round out the top ten. Jacob Alfonso scored a fifth place finish with a 24:32.6 race, while Ansel Tucker and Luke Alfonso finished back to back with times of 24:48.5 and 24:50.5 in ninth and tenth place, respectively. The scoring top five today had only a 44 second split as the team broke off the rust for the rest of the season. Six more Zags finished in under 26 minutes in the race, establishing a solid performance from a deep team. Full meet results can be found here.
The Zags will look to continue their success in meets in the Inland Northwest when they take on the Inland Empire Classic in Lewiston, Idaho on Saturday, October 11th.
