Hofstee and Frydenlund Selected for NCAA Cross Country National Championship

COLUMBIA, Missouri- Gonzaga Women's Cross Country will send runners to the NCAA Cross Country National Championship for the third straight season after Logan Hofstee and Jessica Frydenlund received individual at-large bids on Saturday.

Hofstee ran a career best time in the 6k yesterday at the NCAA West Regionals, finishing seventh overall in the region with a time of 19:36.7. That time moved Hofstee into the third fastest 6k time in Gonzaga Women's Cross Country history, improving on a personal best from just two weeks ago when she took second place in the WCC in her hometown course in Spokane Valley.

Frydenlund secured an at-large bid with her performance in the West Regionals as well, taking 13th place overall with a time of 20:02.1. Frydenlund set the fifth fastest 6k in program history earlier in the season, taking sixth overall the Lakefront Invitational with a time of 19:56.6. Frydenlund was named the WCC Runner of the Week for her performance in Chicago.

Both runners received All-Region honors for their performance in the West Regionals, while Willow Collins also earned the recognition thanks to her top 25 finish. Hofstee and Frydenlund will run in Columbia, Missouri at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course when the national championship kicks off. The NCAA Cross Country National Championship is currently slated to be broadcast on ESPNU starting at 7 am.
