NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Gonzaga men's golf continued the spring slate with a 10th place finish at the Surf Club Invitational hosted by Appalachian State at The Surf Golf & Beach Club.
The Bulldogs were 26-over (594) after opening the two-day 36-hole event with a 291 (+7) in Round 1.
Playing as an individual,
Daniel Kim was one-under (70) in Round 2, finishing T-28th overall at four-over (146). Kim's Round 2 was tied for seventh-best on the day, in which he climbed over 40 spots on the leaderboard.
Guillermo Polo Bodart, who opened the weekend with an Eagle on Hole 1, tied for 34th at five-over (147).
Ethan Flynn was six-over (148, T-41st) and Bruce Chang was seven-over (149, T-47th), while
Charlie Olson and
Daniel Nunez tied for 74th at 11-over (153).
Longwood rallied to claim the team title over the host school. The Lancers were one-under (567), while the Mountaineers finished second at two-over (570). Appalachian State's Herman Huus took medalist honors at five-under (137), followed by Longwood's Scott Jordan and Iona's Sean Richards at four-under (138).
