SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's and women's track kicked off their 2025 outdoor season at the Buc Scoring Invite on Friday at Whitworth's Boppell Track.
Six Zag women opened racing in the 3000-meters, as
Logan Hofstee earned the win with a time of 9:26.62.
Jessica Frydenlund (9:40.24) and Jade Rykpema (10:09.92) completed the podium sweep with second and third place finishes.
Over 20 GU men took their turn in the men's 3K, with
Bryce Cerkowniak (8:14.57) placing second and
Logan Law (8:14.58) placing third. Additionally, the Bulldogs rewrote the outdoor Top Ten, replacing spots four through nine with new times.
Nina Yeats won the women's 1500-meters in 4:39.21, and
Anna Lanigan placed third in 4:42.68. On the men's side of the 1500m,
Tommy O'Neil placed fifth in 4:03.64.
Presley Smith and
Ashlinn Aguayo dipped under one minute in the women's 800-meters, with Smith earning the victory in 58.95 (No. 2 all-time at GU) and Aguayo placing second in 59.01 (No. 3 all-time at GU).
Freshman
Greta Dani made her 100-meter debut, finishing fourth in 13.11.
In the 800-meters,
Ellie Armbruster earned the win with a time of 2:08.65, narrowly missing her PR and program record time of 2:08.51. In third place,
Anna Grabowski ran her outdoor 800m debut in 2:12.74 and entered the program Top Ten at No. 5.

GU will be in split-squad action Apr. 4, sending athletes back to Boppell Track for the Whitworth Peace Meet while others will head south to Stanford, Calif., for the Stanford Invitational. Results and the latest schedule will be available meet week at www.gozags.com.
