LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Gonzaga men's golf team finished 13th at The Prestige at PGA West after the final round was canceled due to high winds.
The Zags posted a two-round total of 17-over par (585), opening with a three-over 287 in Round 1 and adding a 14-over 298 in Round 2 before weather ended the tournament early.
Guillermo Polo Bodart and
Michael Vienneau led Gonzaga, each tied for 29th at three-over par (145). Polo Bodart recorded rounds of 72 and 73, while Vienneau posted scores of 73 and 72.
Ethan Flynn finished 55th place at six-over par (148) and carded a two-under 69 (-2) in the opening round, the lowest score by a Zag in the tournament.
Jayden Lizama placed 66th at eight-over par (150), and
Charlie Olson finished 83rd at nine-over (151).
Stanford won the team title at five-under par, followed by Texas Tech (-2) and Oregon State (-1). Oregon's Aiden Krafft took medalist honors at five-under (137). Four golfers finished three-under in second place.
Gonzaga has a break until the Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore., on March 23-24.
