Biography

High School: Attended Corvallis High where he played for Coach Tony Vandermeer...earned four varsity letters...first-team All-Valley Conference as a senior as team advanced to first round of Oregon State 4A playoffs...also named third-team All-State as a senior...also lettered two years in track in the pole vault where he was coached by older brother Matt, two years in golf and one year in basketball...received Ambassador[apos]s Award for golf.

FRESHMAN (2006):
Played in 16 matches, 15 starts...first collegiate appearance was off the bench in second match of season, then started his next 15 appearances...first collegiate goal was a big one, returning to his home state to score off a Gonzaga corner kick at 88:23 for 2-1 win at Portland.

SOPHOMORE (2007): One of four players to start all 20 matches...lone goal of season and second of his career came at third-ranked Santa Clara to give 28th-ranked Bulldogs a 1-0 lead at 16:54 in match that would end in 1-1 double-overtime tie...had a pair of assists, his first career assist leading to only goal in 1-0 win at Saint Mary[apos]s and his second coming on match winning goal in 3-1 verdict against Loyola Marymount...solid defensive play helped Gonzaga record a 0.71 goals-against-average, just shy of the school record of 0.68.

JUNIOR (2008): One of seven players to start all 19 matches and helped anchor veteran defense that allowed just 1.45 goals/match...after scoring one goal in each of two previous seasons, scored three goals to tie for third on team in goals and rank fourth in points with seven...scored both goals in 3-2 setback against UC Riverside in UNLV adidas Invitational as Gonzaga took 2-0 lead early in second half...final goal came in 2-1 win at home against Loyola Marymount...lone assist of season came on Tye Perdido[apos]s goal at 98:58 in 3-2 OT win over UMKC in Gonzaga/Nike Soccer Classic as he was named to All-Tournament team...named West Coast Conference honorable mention. Misc.: Fine Arts student honoree...National History winner...Corvallis High representative for Boys State...father, Jerry Muravez, played baseball at Butte (Calif.) College and amateur baseball for the Chico (Calif.) Colts; brother, Michael, played soccer at Colorado State-Pueblo; brother, Joseph, played soccer at Clark College in Vancouver, Wash.; brother, Matthew, was a pole vaulter at Clackamas (Ore.) Community College...has six brothers - five older and one younger.
