Bulldogs Fall To No. 57 UC Irvine

Irvine, Calif. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 57 UC Irvine Wednesday in Irvine, as Stefan Feddersen earned the lone singles point for the Zags.

Gonzaga (5-8) jumped out to an early lead as the Bulldogs took the doubles point. Zack Radetzky and Feddersen joined forces at No. 1 to defeat Douglas Taylor and Trevor Dobson 8-5. The Zags sealed the point with an 8-5 victory by Cooper Fratt and Conor Feeney over Ajay Ahulwaila and Gautam Vaidyanthan at No. 3. UC Irvine earned a victory at No. 2 as Alex Sundling and Khunpol Issara defeated Charles Adams and Roman Dojcak 8-2.

The Anteaters took the victory, taking five or six singles contests. Feddersen earned the Zags' other point in the contest with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Sundling at No. 1. Dojcak dropped a 6-0, 6-1 contest at No. 2 to Victor Lamm, while Radetzky fell to Issara at No. 3 by a score of 6-3, 6-2. At No. 4, Feeney fell 6-2, 6-4 to Stephen Stege, before Fratt fell att No. 5 to Zac Tsai 7-6, 6-2. Rouding out singles play, Adams dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Ryan Mayer at No. 6.

The Bulldogs will hit the courts again Wednesday as they face University of Alabama- Birmingham.
