Men's Tennis Falls to UAB 7-0

Irvine, Calif. - The Gonzaga University men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the University of Alabama Thursday in Irvine, Calif.

The Blazers (7-1) opened with a sweep of doubles play to earn the early point and take a 1-0 advantage. Johannes Spagenberg and Brian Ly defeated Gonzaga's (5-9) Stefan Feddersen and Zack Radetzky at No. 1 8-4, while Charles Adams and Roman Dojcak fell 8-2 to Slawomir Szeremeta and Tyrone Ewels at No. 2. Rounding out doubles play, at No. 3, Cooper Fratt and Logan Napolsky dropped an 8-6 decision to Dan Cornei and Alex Emery.

In singles play, Dojcak fell 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 to Spagenberg at No. 1 while Radetzky dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Szeremeta at No. 2. Playing No. 3, Cornei defeated Fratt 6-3, 6-2. Adams fell in straight-sets to Ly 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 and Logan Napolsky lost to Thomas Pterich 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5. Casey McCoy, who was playing in his first dual match of his career, stepped in at No. 6, dropping a 6-3, 6-4 decision to Emery.

The Bulldogs return to action Saturday as they face West Coast Conference foe Loyola Marymount University.
