SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University Men's tennis team opens play at the West Coast Conference Championships Friday afternoon in San Diego, Calif. The sixth-seeded Bulldogs will face the No. 3 seed University of Portland in Friday's first round match up beginning at 3 p.m.

"It was good to close out the regular season on a high note," head coach Peter MacDonald said. "We have been playing some really good tennis over the past couple weeks and we will come into this weekend trying to build off of that momentum."
Jake Davis paces the club with a 13-9 overall singles record while Scott Sullivan is another Zag that finished with wins in double figures, posting 10 wins in his first collegiate season. In doubles, the pairing of Roman Dojcak and Scott Sullivan lead the team with 10 wins followed by Jake Davis and Tomasz Falkowski with eight wins.
"Jake and Scott have played well throughout the season but have taken their level of play up a notch in the last couple of matches," said MacDonald. "I feel good about each one of our doubles teams right now. The two teams made up of young guys have continued to get better throughout the season and have been playing very well lately. Our veteran pairing of Stefan Feddersen and Conor Feeney have also played well of late and have they have played in the postseason before. We are coming into this weekend playing with a lot of confidence."
