CHENEY, Wash. - Roman Dojcak posted a win at No. 2 singles for the Gonzaga University men's tennis team who dropped a 6-1 decision to Eastern Washington University Thursday evening.
Four of the six singles matches required a third and deciding set but the Zags (4-6) were only able to come away with a victory in one of those matches. Dojcak led the way with a come-from-behind 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 victory for his team-leading seventh win of the season. Levin Guillermo, Scott Sullivan and Kevin Eischen each played well in their respective three-set matches.
In doubles play, the Bulldogs were led by the No. 3 tandem of Jake Davis and Conor Feeney who battled hard to come away with an 8-7 win. EWU earned the point though, taking the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches 8-4 and 8-6, respectively. Davis and Feeney are now 3-0 while playing at No. 3 doubles.
Next up for the Zags is a spring break trip to southern California to face UC Riverside Mar. 10, University of Pennsylvania in Los Angeles, Calif. Mar. 11 and Loyola Marymount University Mar. 13.
