LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Gonzaga Bulldogs fell 3-0 to host UNLV on Sunday afternoon in the finale of the Johann Memorial Classic. The Zags were held scoreless on Sunday, but posted a 4-1 win over CSU Bakersfield on Friday night.
On Sunday, the Rebels scored at the 12:56, 65:21, and 68:12 marks to take the 3-0 win. The Zags took 10 shots on goal and Ben Willis made six saves in goal for GU. The Zags were able to get one shot on goal, coming from Christo Michaelson. UNLV took 15 total shots.
"It was a difficult game today," Gonzaga head coach Einar Thorarinsson said. "We never got our game going in the first half and then as the passes were finally connecting in the second half the red card set us back. All the credit goes to UNLV. They played well."
The Bulldogs (4-3) begin a lengthy home stand beginning on Friday that will stretch four-straight matches. The action begins on Friday at 7 pm against Air Force. Live links are available at GoZags.com.
