SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Gonzaga men's tennis placed three on the All-WCC teams with
Sam Feit named First Team in singles, and Feit and
Ruadhan O'Sullivan First Team in Doubles, league officials announced Wednesday.
In addition to Feit and O'Sullivan's First Team honors,
Vincent Rettke and O'Sullivan were named to the All-WCC Singles Honorable Mention.
Feit put together a spectacular season, going 24-8 in singles with a 17-5 mark in dual matches and an 8-1 record against WCC opponents. He played the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the lineup with a 9-4 mark in the top spot and an 8-1 record at No. 2. Feit was named to the honorable mention in singles last season.
In doubles, Feit and O'Sullivan led the team with a 21-9 overall record, including a 12-7 mark in the top spot in the lineup in dual-match play. The pair was named the league's All-WCC Second Team last year.
O'Sullivan was second on the team with 23 singles wins, including a 13-7 mark in dual-match play and a 5-2 record against WCC opponents. He went 9-2 in the No. 2 spot in the lineup.
Rettke was nearly unbeatable in the No. 4 spot in the lineup, going 14-2 in dual matches and 8-0 against WCC opponents. He compiled a 19-6 overall mark on the year.
Second-seeded GU is back on the court on Friday at the WCC Championships in Claremont, Calif. The Zags face the winner of the BYU/Santa Clara match at 1:30 p.m. Links to live coverage will be available at GoZags.com.
