TULSA, Okla. -- After an excellent second day at the ITA All-American Championships, which included a record of 2-0 in their singles matches, the Gonzaga men's tennis team looked to continue their success earlier today.
Opening up the action for the Zags, sophomore Arthus de la Bassetiere clinched a 7-6, 6-4 victory over Middle Tennessee State University's Oskar Brostrom Poulsen. Today's victory marks the first tournament win for Bassetiere this fall season.
Facing Texas Christian University's Alexander Jong, Gonzaga's
Sasha Trkulja fought hard, but lost by a score of 4-6, 6-5, 6-1. After today's loss, Trkulja overall tournament record this fall moves to 5-2.
In the first doubles match for Gonzaga in this tournament, Gonzaga's
Matthew Hollingworth and Trkulja battled hard, but fell 7-6, 7-6 against Baylor University's Zsombor Valcz and Tadaes Paroulek.
