SPOKANE, Wash. --  The Gonzaga men's tennis team continued their dominance in the ITA North Regionals earlier today. In total, four Zags moved onto the Main Draw Semifinals, including seniors Oliver Andersson and Matthew Hollingworth.
 
As the Main Draw doubles competition began, Gonzaga's Oliver Andersson and Leon Roider advanced to the Semifinals with their 8-5 victory over Oregon's Russell Soohoo and Avi Shugar. This is the third straight season that the Zags have had a pair advance to the Semifinals of Main Draw doubles competition.
 
In their Consolation Semifinals doubles match, Gonzaga's Pablo Galvan Gomez and Arthus de la Bassetiere were forced to withdraw due to injury in their match against Portland State's Andrin Zuellig and Gregory Grunig.
 
Facing Washington's Jacob Sleight in the singles Consolation Quarterfinals, Gomez Galvan earned an excellent 6-2, 6-2 victory over Washington's Jacob Sleight to advance to the Consolation Semifinals. In his Consolation Semifinal match, Gomez Galvan earned a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win over Eastern Washington's Steven Paz to move onto the Consolation Championship of the singles competition.
 
As the singles competition of the Main Draw opened, four Zags competed with the opportunity to make the Semifinals. Gonzaga's Matthew Hollingworth clinched an early 6-2, 6-2 win over Washington's Rikuto Yamaguchi. This is the first time in Hollingworth's career that he has advanced to the Semifinals of the Main Draw singles competition.
 
Later on, Gonzaga's Tom Hann and Oliver Andersson faced each other in their singles Quarterfinals match, and Andersson earned the win by a score of 6-4, 6-3. With the win, both Hollingworth and Andersson qualify for the ITA Super Regional tournament later this month.
 
In the final Main Draw singles match of the day for Gonzaga, Roider battled, but lost a back-and-forth match against Washington's Han-Chin Lin by a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Roider will still have a chance to qualify for the ITA Super Regional tomorrow, as he could qualify with a win in the doubles competition of the Main Draw Semifinals.

The Gonzaga men's tennis team will conclude their participation in the ITA North Regionals tomorrow. The competition will begin with Andersson and Roider facing Oregon's Luke Vandecasteele and Ray Lo in the doubles Semifinals of the Main Draw at 9 am. With a win, Roider and Andersson would qualify for the ITA Super Regional doubles competition.
 
Later in the day, Gomez Galvan will perform in the Consolation Championship of the singles competition against Washington's Nedim Suko.
 
Having already qualified for the ITA Super Regional tournament, Hollingworth and Andersson will not play their scheduled singles Semifinals match of the Main Draw.
