SPOKANE, Wash. -- Earlier today, the Gonzaga men's tennis team concluded their participation in the ITA North Regional tournament. After today, the Zags will turn their attention to the upcoming ITA Super Regionals tournament, which will run from Oct. 21 to the 24 in Palo Alto, California.

Today's action began with Gonzaga's Oliver Andersson and Leon Roider performing in the Semifinals of the Main Draw doubles competition. In a back-and-forth, best-of-three sets match against Oregon's Ray Lo and Luke Vandecasteele, Roider and Andersson earned a dominant 6-4, 6-4 victory. With the win, Andersson and Roider now qualify for the ITA Super Regionals. The finals match was not played out due to already qualifying for the next tournament. 

The ITA North Regional concluded with the singles Championship of the Consolation bracket. Facing Washington's Nedim Suko, Gonzaga's Pablo Gomez Galvan claimed a 6-4, 7-6 victory to win the singles Consolation Championship.

With their excellent run at the ITA North Regional tournament, the Zags will send four singles and two pairs of doubles to the ITA Super Regionals. Gonzaga's Matthew Hollingworth, Sasha Trkulja, Arthus de la Bassetiere, and Oliver Andersson will represent the Zags in singles competition at the ITA Super Regionals. For the doubles competition, Hollingworth and Trkulja, along with Andersson and Roider, will perform for the Zags.

The Gonzaga men's tennis team will return to the Stevens Center for their last fall tournament on Nov. 4, when they host the Gonzaga Invitational.
