TUCSON, Arizona -  The Zags continued their run in the Arizona Wildcat Open earlier this morning. This is the first of five tournaments the Gonzaga men's tennis team has scheduled this fall.

Opening up the doubles competition, Gonzaga's Leon Roider and Oliver Andersson earned a 6-3 victory over Northern Arizona University's Daniel Torres and Morgan Donovan. The Zags continued to excel in doubles competition, as Matthew Hollingworth and Sasha Trkulja claimed a 6-0 dominate win against Northern Arizona University's Facundo Tumosa and Maikel de Boes.
 
Gonzaga continued to find success as the singles competition began. Facing University of New Mexico's Aram Noroozian, Roider earned a tough 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory. In similar fashion, Hollingworth battled back to defeat Northern Arizona University's Piotr Galus by a score of 1-6, 6-4, 7-6. Trkulja was the only Zag to earn a singles win in straight sets, as he clinched a 6-4, 6-1 victory over University of New Mexico's Arda Azkara.
 
Playing on his home court, University of Arizona's Jay Friend earned a 6-1, 6-2 singles victory over Gonzaga's Andersson. In the final match of the day for the Zags, Northern Arizona University's Alexander Groves defeated Gonzaga's Pablo Gomez Galvan by a score of 6-3, 7-5.
 
Gonzaga's Martin Bats was forced to withdraw due to injury from his singles match against San Diego State's Lennart Melzer.

The Gonzaga men's tennis team continue play at the Arizona Wildcat Open tomorrow, with Gonzaga's Hollingworth and Trkulja facing the University of Arizona's Eric Padgham and Jay Friend. For Roider and Andersson, their final doubles match of the tournament will be against University of Arizona's Dominique Rolland and Jared Horwood. Both of the doubles matches are scheduled for 8 a.m.

Singles competition also ends tomorrow morning for the Zags, as Roider, Hollingworth, Trkulja, Gomez Galvan, and Andersson will all compete in singles matches at 10 a.m. The live streams for tomorrow's matches can be found HERE.
