SEATTLE, Wash. -- Earlier this afternoon, the Gonzaga men's tennis team continued their performance at the ITA North Regionals. Today's action marks the third consecutive season that multiple Zags have advanced to the singles and doubles Quarterfinals of the Main Draw.
Opening with the doubles competition, Gonzaga's Gus Krauel and Tom Dunlop lost their Round of 16 match against Seattle's Filip Stipic and Yu Han Hsieh by a score of 8-4. Also in the Round of 16, Gonzaga's Pablo Gomez Galvan and Leon Roider earned an impressive 8-4 win over Seattle's Oliver Hall and Jayden Harrison. Galvan and Roider advanced to the Semifinals of the Main Draw after defeating Oregon's Ray Lo and Avi Shugar by a score of 8-6.
In the Main Draw of the singles competition, Krauel advanced to the Quarterfinals by clinching a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory against Stipic. Shortly after, Galvan battled, but dropped his Round of 16 match against Portland's Nicolas Ocana by a score of 6-3, 6-3.
The Zags concluded today's performance when Roider advanced to the Quarterfinals of the Back Draw, beating Andrin Zuellig 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets.
