Men’s Tennis Wins over Air Force in Colorado Cup

The Zags play again tomorrow

DENVER, Col. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team continued the Colorado Cup today, beating Air Force 4-3 in dual-format matches.

The Falcons scored the doubles point, as Giovanni Branchetti/Jay Fairclough and Tom Dunlop/Oscar Rashed each fell 6-3. Gus Krauel/Kai-Luca Ampaw also paired up, but couldn't overcome Air Force in a tiebreaker.

The Zags righted the ship in singles play, going 4-2, with each victory requiring three sets. Fairclough, Ampaw, and Rashed avenged first-frame falls, while Krauel dropped his second set before winning the third.

With Saturday's effort, the men's team improved to 27-26 in singles matches this fall season. Gonzaga remains over .500 in doubles with a record of 16-15.

Up next: The Bulldogs face Penn on Sunday morning to conclude the Colorado Cup, hosted by the University of Denver at Denver Tennis Park. Matches can be streamed here.
