SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's tennis combined for a 6-1 singles record on Saturday as the team continued its home tournament at the Stevens Center.
Tom Dunlop advanced to a singles championship tomorrow by beating Idaho's Gabriel Moroder 2-6, 6-2, 6-4 and Portland State's Edoardo Cravanzola 6-4, 6-3. Oscar Rashed dropped his quarterfinal to Montana State's Andre Stewart in three sets.
In consolation singles, Kai-Luca Ampaw and Gus Krauel each won two matches, advancing to their respective back-draw finals. All four bouts on Saturday went the distance — requiring 10-point superbreakers for third sets.
During the fall season, Gonzaga men's tennis has an overall record of 20-20 in doubles and 37-33 in singles.
Up next: The Bulldogs conclude their fall slate on Sunday with the final day of the Gonzaga Invitational. Dunlop will play Idaho's Sebastian Medica for a singles title.
