Box Score OMAHA, Neb. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team played a nonconference dual match against the University of Nebraska-Omaha earlier this afternoon. Today marks the third match between the Zags and Mavericks since the 2021 season.
 
Beginning with the competitive doubles competition, Omaha got off to an early lead when Mikel Garmendia and Ethan Gaubert claimed a 6-2 court three victory against Gonzaga's 
Gus Krauel and 
Tom Dunlop. Gonzaga tied the doubles competition when 
Sasha Trkulja and 
Matthew Hollingworth defeated Omaha's Mikhail Korkunov and Bryan Kuntz by a score of 6-3 on court one. In the No.2 spot, Omaha clinched the doubles point when Quintan Van Wijk and Ryoma Mishiro earned a 6-3 win over Gonzaga's 
Leon Roider and 
Pablo Gomez Galvan.
 
Shifting to the singles competition, Trkulja continued his excellent season by clinching a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win against Mishiro on court one. Shortly after, Kuntz picked up a 6-2, 7-6 court four victory over Galvan. In the No.6 spot, Gonzaga once again tied the competition when 
Oscar Rashed defeated Garmendia by a score of 7-6, 6-2.
 
The final three matches of the day were some of the most competitive this season for the Zags. On court two, Hollingworth earned a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win against Korkunov. The competition was tied at three when Van Wijk claimed a 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 victory over Roider in the No.3 spot. In the final match of the day, Omaha clinched the team victory when Gaubert defeated Dunlop by a score of 6-4, 5-7, 6-4 on court five.
 
Up next: Following today's match, the Gonzaga men's tennis team will remain in Nebraska, as they are scheduled to play the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on February 11th at 9 am. The Zags will return to the Stevens Center on February 18th, when they are scheduled to face the University of Montana at 10 am.
