Women’s Rowing Set to Race at Lake Wheeler

Gonzaga University's women's rowing team is set to make its debut at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Friday and Saturday, April 25–26, 2025. This prestigious regatta, co-hosted by Duke and the University of North Carolina, features 18 collegiate programs, including nationally ranked teams such as No. 12 Virginia, No. 18 Duke, No. 20 Columbia, and No. 24 North Carolina.

The regatta spans three sessions: Friday morning, Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning. Gonzaga will compete in multiple categories, including, First Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, Varsity Four, Second Varsity Four  

Participating in the Lake Wheeler Invitational offers Gonzaga a critical opportunity to benchmark against top-tier programs from across the country. The diverse field provides a platform for the Zags to test their speed and cohesion ahead of the WCC Championship.
