LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The Gonzaga men's tennis team completed Day 2 of the Larry Easley Memorial Classic on Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
GU's doubles pair of
Vincent Rettke and
Matthew Hollingworth started the day with a win to advance to the semifinals. The pair defeated Cambell Nakayama and Andrew Whitehouse of Cal Poly 8-7, but later fell in the semis to top-seeded Connor Rapp and Max Wild of UCLA.
Hollingworth and
Theo McDonald also collected singles wins on the day. Hollingworth defeated Huntley Allen of SMU in straight sets 6-2, 7-6, and McDonald defeated Ignacio Martinez of South Dakota State, 6-0, 4-0, ret., and Nakayama of Cal Poly 6-1, 6-4. In doubles, McDonald teamed with
Kyle Everly to beat San Diego State 8-5.
The Zags will finish the Larry Easley Memorial Classic in Las Vegas on Sunday.
