SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga men's tennis team completed their 2023 fall tournament season earlier today, earning three championships on the final day of the Gonzaga Invite.
Opening with the White Doubles Final, Gonzaga's
Matthew Hollingworth and
Tom Dunlop clinched an 8-6 victory against Seattle's Yu Han Hsieh and Filip Stipic. This marks the third consecutive season Gonzaga has clinched a doubles championship at the Gonzaga Invite, with
Sasha Trkulja and
Leon Roider claiming last season's Blue Doubles Final.
The doubles competition ended with multiple other Zags earning impressive victories. In the third-place game of the Blue Doubles Consolations Draw, Gonzaga's
Pablo Gomez Galvan and
Leon Roider earned an 8-4 win over Eastern Washington's Tyler Waddock and Arshjot Bhatti. Concluding the doubles action was Gonzaga's
Gus Krauel, who claimed an 8-5 victory over Montana's Chris Zhang and Josh Watkins when paired with Portland's Tannor Binder.
Three Zags also performed in the singles competition. Filling in for Seattle's Jayden Harrison, Dunlop dominated, claiming a 6-3, 6-0 victory against Seattle's Oliver Hall in the Red Singles Consolation Final. Later on, Roider clinched the White Singles Final, defeating Portland's Nikolas Tvedt by a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. In the last match of the tournament, Gonzaga's
Matthew Hollingworth battled in the Blue Singles Final, losing 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 to Idaho's Francisco Gay.

Today's action concludes the 2023 fall tournament schedule for the Gonzaga men's tennis team. A schedule for the spring dual season, including Gonzaga's conference matches, will be announced later this winter.
