The Bulldogs play again tomorrow against North Dakota in a neutral match

Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. --  This morning, the Gonzaga women's tennis team faced the University of Nebraska in their fourth dual match of the season. Today marks only the second meeting between the Zags and the Cornhuskers, with their only other matchup occurring during the 2019 season.
 
In the doubles competition, Gonzaga battled against a talented Nebraska squad. On court two, Nebraska's Anfisa Danilchenko and Samantha Alicea defeated Gonzaga's Kianna Oda and Rose Hayes by a score of 6-0. The doubles point was clinched for Nebraska when Raphaelle Lacasse and Ana Zamburek earned a 7-5 court one victory over Gonzaga's Adrianna Sosnowska and Cate Broerman. With the doubles point clinched for the Cornhuskers, the court three match between Gonzaga's Caroline Wernli and Tiegan Aitken and Nebraska's Lucy Loy and Isabel Gallego went unfinished, ending with a score of 6-5.
 
As the singles competition began, Nebraska picked up their second team point when Gallego defeated Oda 6-1, 6-2 on court three. Shortly after, Loy claimed a 6-3, 6-4 court six win against Wernli. The team victory was clinched for Nebraska when Danilchenko earned a court two victory over Sosnowska, winning by a score of 7-6, 6-2.
 
With the team victory clinched for the Cornhuskers, all other singles matches went unfinished.
 
Up Next: The Gonzaga women's tennis team will stay in Lincoln, as they will face the University of North Dakota tomorrow, February 5th, at 8 a.m. The Zags will return to the Stevens Center on February 11th, when they are scheduled to face Colorado at 9 am.

Records: Today's loss moves the season record for the Gonzaga women's tennis team to 2-2. For Nebraska, their record improves to 3-0 on the year. Today's match also moves the historical record between Gonzaga and Nebraska to 1-1.
