SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga Women's Rowing team competed against Washington State University at home in Silver Lake and won three of their races. 
 
In the closest competition of the day in the 1v8+ race, Gonzaga placed second at 6:37.89, very closely behind WSU's first place time of 6:36.26. This 1v8+ competition was the Fawley Cup race, and there was a presentation at the boathouse after racing concluded in which WSU was awarded for their first-place finish. 
 
During the 2V8 race, WSU took first with a time of 6:53.07, while the Zags placed second with a time of 7:01.11.

The Zags took first in the 1V4+ race with a time of 7:35.67, while WSU followed behind with a time of 7:38.94. Gonzaga took second in the 2V4 race with a time of 7:56.07 behind WSU's time of 7:40.94.
 
In the 3V8+ race, Gonzaga took second with a time of 7:25.71 behind the first-place time of WSU at 7:17.93.
 
During the 5V8+ (A) race, Gonzaga placed first with a time of 7:24.18 and WSU came in second with a time of 7:28.67. Finally, Gonzaga took first in the 5V8+ (B) race with a time of 7:44.09, while WSU followed behind, placing second at 7:59.97.
