SPOKANE, Wash. – Gonzaga men's tennis placed all nine student-athletes on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete list and the team was named an ITA All-Academic Team, announced Monday.
Gonzaga's nine honorees marked the fourth straight year and fifth time in program history with at least seven.
Oliver Andersson, Arthus de la Bassetiere, Martin Bats, Pablo Gomez Galvan, Tom Hann, Matthew Hollingworth, Gus Krauel, Leon Roider and Sasha Trkulja were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The team also earned the All-Academic honor as a squad for the fifth consecutive year and 10th time overall since the award's inception in 2007.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2023, 959 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, the student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
