Fairclough and Branchetti Advance to Semifinals Round in Doubles in ITA Regionals

The duo plays tomorrow after defeating the #13 team in the country

SEATTLE, Wash. – A Gonzaga men's tennis duo cruised to victory today, advancing to the doubles semifinals of the ITA Northwest Regional Championships.

Jay Fairclough and Giovanni Branchetti paired up to take down #13 UC Berkeley 8-3 in Sunday afternoon's quarterfinal.

Fairclough/Branchetti have won eight straight doubles matches — four at this tournament, after going unbeaten at last month's Aggie Invitational.

Up next: Fairclough/Branchetti will play in the doubles semifinals on Monday.

Competition continues through Tue. Oct. 22 at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Washington. The two singles finalists and one doubles champion from this region will qualify for next month's NCAA Singles Championship and NCAA Doubles Championship in Waco, Texas.
