SEATTLE, Wash. – Earlier this evening, the Gonzaga men's tennis team battled the University of Washington in a non-conference dual match, but fell 6-1.
 
Opening the match with the doubles competition, Washington's Jim Hendrikx and Han-Chih Lin claimed a 6-3 court three win over Gonzaga's Oscar Rashed and Pablo Gomez Galvan. In the No.1 spot, Washington clinched the doubles point when Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn earned a 6-2 victory against Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth.
 
With the doubles point already clinched by Washington, the court two match between Gonzaga's Leon Roider and Gus Krauel and Washington's Brett Pearson and Nedim Suko went unfinished, ending with a score of 4-4.
 
In the singles competition, Washington increased their lead when Zharyn defeated Hollingworth on court two, winning by a score of 6-4, 6-0. Shortly after, Washington's Ivan Sodan picked up a 6-1, 6-2 court five win against Rashed. In the No.1 spot, Bouchelaghem clinched the team victory for Washington, defeating Trkulja by a score of 6-2, 7-6.
 
On court three, Roider battled, but lost to Lin by a score of 6-4, 6-2. Pearson also earned a 5-7, 6-1, 10-1 court six victory over Gonzaga's Tom Dunlop. In the final match of the day, Galvan defeated Suko on court four, winning by a score of 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
 
Up next: The Gonzaga men's tennis team will have a week off following today's match, as they are scheduled to face UC San Diego on March 10th and San Diego State on March 11th.

Records: Today's loss moves Gonzaga's season record to 3-3. For Washington, their record on the year improves to 6-4 with the win. The historical record between the Bulldogs and Huskies also moves to 0-18 with the result.
