Gonzaga Notes | Tournament Draws

LAST TIME OUT:

• Two weeks ago, Gonzaga hosted the Bulldog Classic and continued a streak of impressive home performances...two Zags reached championship-round matches in singles play as Emilio Moreno won the B bracket for his first career flight win...Ruadhan O'Sullivan, meanwhile, took second in the A draw...Simón Homedes Dualde, Sam Feit, Vincent Rettke and Ronzai Saurombe each won first-round matches, and Saurombe advanced to the semifinal round of the B flight.
• Two Zag pairs earned main bracket victories as Rettke teamed with Everly to win a second-round match following a bye in the first...the team of Moreno and Saurombe won a first-round match against Seattle U before falling in the second.

WEEKEND INFO:

• The Duck Invitational will feature two singles brackets - a Green bracket and a Yellow bracket - and one doubles flight...Ruadhan O'Sullivan, Vincent Rettke, and Sam Feit are playing in the Green Singles flight, while Simón Homedes Dualde, Emilio Moreno, and Kyle Everly are competing for the Yellow Singles title.
• In doubles, O'Sullivan and Moreno are paired together, as are Feit and Homedes-Dualde...both pairs have a first-round matchup while Rettke and Everly have a bye to the second round.
• Play will begin on Friday, Nov. 11, with the first doubles matches going off at 9:00 a.m....singles play is slated to start at 10:00 a.m....doubles will once again start Saturday off, although there'll be two rounds of pairs play before the individual matches begin.

TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME:

• The Bulldogs have combined to play 19 three-set matches already this season, seeing one in five matches go the distance...they are 12-7 in such contests, with half of those wins coming from Vincent Rettke, who's played seven three-set matches...four of Rettke's five contests at the Aggie Invitational went three sets.
• Two other freshmen have two three-set wins this year: Kyle Everly and Sam Feit...the other newcomer, Simón Homedes Dualde, has one, as does senior Ronzai Saurombe.

GETTING THE GANG BACK TOGETHER:

• Gonzaga joins Oregon, Nevada, Portland, and Portland State at the Duck Invitational this weekend...the Zags have faced off against each school at least once already during the tournament season...both Portland and Portland State made the trip to Spokane for the Bulldog Classic last month as well.
• The Bulldogs have combined for an 8-10 record against foes from these four squads...Emilio Moreno is 2-0 after beating Portland's Jamie Fisher and Portland State's Tommy Edwards for his bracket title two weeks ago...both Ronzai Saurombe and Sam Feit are 2-2 as Feit downed a pair of Wolfpack players at the Aggie Invitational while Saurombe beat two from West Coast Conference foe Portland...Ruadhan O'Sullivan and Kyle Everly each have one win apiece against players from one of these four schools.

ZAGS ON THE COURT THIS WEEK:
