CHENEY, Wash.-Gonzaga's singles play reigned supreme Saturday as all seven members of the GU men's tennis team won their individual matches on day two of the EWU Fall Classic in Cheney.

The Zags made it a sweep in the Black Singles bracket, taking all four spots in the semifinals. Returners Ronzai Saurombe and Emilio Moreno picked up the big wins of the bracket with both of them beating their opponents 6-2, 6-3. Saurombe and Moreno are set to face each other in one semifinal match. In the other, two freshmen will match up as both Simon Homedes Dualde and Kyle Everly each advanced with two-set wins. Homedes Dualde beat his foe Max Petrak of Montana State 6-3, 7-5, while Everly took down Eastern Washington's Luke Ness 7-5, 6-0.

In the top bracket, Vincent Rettke and Ruadhan O'Sullivan took on opposition from Idaho with both reaching the semis. Rettke breezed past the bracket's No. 4 seed, Guilherme Scarpelli, 6-2, 6-0, while O'Sullivan beat the Vandals' Mark Kovacs 6-3, 6-2. They are on opposite sides of the bracket and may meet each other in the finals.

In consolation play, Sam Feit completed Gonzaga's perfect individual day with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Wacil Bendjelti of Eastern Washington. It's Feit's first collegiate victory.

Meanwhile, two Gonzaga duos dropped out of the Doubles bracket after losing tough matches. Moreno and Everly took on the Vandals' Kovacs and Carlos Longhi Neto, seeing a tiebreak. That tiebreak ended 9-8 (5) in favor of the pair from Idaho. The other Bulldog duo, O'Sullivan and Homedes, took on Eastern Washington's Victor Pereira and Ricardo Almeida and won six games but fell 8-6.

The Zags will wrap up their first tournament of the fall on Sunday, Sept. 18, with the final two rounds of singles play. Semifinal matches will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the EWU Tennis Courts in Cheney.
